30, 40, 50-Year & New Member Event

The Club hosted the 30, 40, 50-Year and New Member Event on Sunday, July 28. Sixty-five invitees and guests were in attendance to celebrate new members and milestones of club membership.

For those who braved the conditions of a winter afternoon, the event started with 18 holes, followed by dinner in the Member’s Lounge.

The winner of the golf event was David Smith, who scored 36 points on a countback from runner-up Lee Webb. 

Sarosh and his team prepared a magnificent meal, showcasing their talents. The meal included slow-braised Josdale Angus Beef Brisket, Lyonnaise potato, steamed greens, and shiraz jus, finished off with a decadent steamed Sticky Date Pudding with toffee sauce and vanilla bean ice cream.

Club Captain Rohan Duncan opened the evening with the assistance of Club President Rob Coxon. The night showcased members who had achieved significant membership milestones of 30, 40, 50, and a very special 60 years of service, while introducing a group of new members to this proud club.

Celebrating 30 years of membership, Richard Farrell spoke of his time at the club and his wonderful memories and thoughts of a club he is so proud of being part of. David Robinson was presented with a 60-Year membership certificate while reminiscing of past office bearers, staff, members and fun times had by all. Who would have thought we once had BBQs down on the 12th hole that did not finish until the early hours of the following day, and by that, the term of 2am or 3am was mentioned with a sly grin. Many stories were shared throughout the night, which all in attendance enjoyed.
