New Bunker Rakes
As we are all aware, there has been a recent rollout of new bunker rakes with a different design, with the teeth being less prevalent than the older ones.
These rakes will help us achieve the following
- Less disturbance of the face.
- Sand stays in the same position instead of being raked to the entry point of the bunker.
- Less clay is being brought up through the sand.
The rake head differs significantly from the previous rakes and requires a different approach when smoothing over prints.
Members are encouraged to smooth out the deep prints with their feet first and then use the rake in both forward and backward motion.
Rakes are also to be returned to the centre of the bunker facing the direction of play, limiting the chance of someone’s ball coming to rest on the face of a bunker.
See below the video of Alana demonstrating exactly how to use them correctly.
